THF congratulates Ying Wang and Megan Townsend on their new leadership roles with community boards.  

New Leadership Roles

Ying Wang recently joined the Girls on the Run Board of Directors. Girls on the Run is an after-school program. It is designed to inspire girls of all abilities to recognize and embrace their inner strength. Lessons emphasize the important connection between physical and emotional health. Through safety modifications and virtual programming, dedicated and trained staff are ready to adapt to local community needs. At the end of the program, girls complete a 5K. This provides a tangible sense of accomplishment, setting a confident and goal-oriented mindset into motion.

Ying is a Senior Manager in the Tax Services Department. She received her bachelor’s degree from Sichuan University before attending Georgia State University for her double master’s degree in professional accounting and taxation. Ying is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA).

Megan Townsend has been appointed to the Board of Emerging Leaders of Tampa Bay (ELTB). She has also been appointed to the Associate Board of Ambassadors of Tampa Bay (ABOA) for the American Cancer Society. ELTB is a young professional leadership program of the Tampa Bay Chamber. Megan will serve as the Inclusion Committee Chair. The Inclusion Committee’s purpose is to cultivate an inclusive organization providing opportunities for involvement and providing educational resources about local community organizations. Megan served on the ELTB Leadership Team as an Ambassador for the past year. Megan will also be serving on the ABOA. The Associate Board of Ambassadors (ABOA) is a community-based volunteer group made up of distinguished  professionals in the Greater Tampa Bay area. It is dedicated to assisting the American Cancer Society’s mission to save lives, celebrate lives, and lead the fight for a world without cancer.

Megan is the Marketing and Business Development Coordinator at THF. She attended Florida State University and received her bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in marketing. Megan has been providing marketing and business development services for THF since she joined in 2016.
